The Barcelona taxi is black with yellow doors, is everywhere and runs on a meter without mystery: one of Europe's most serious fleets. Ride-hailing apps complete the offer.
How it works
Hail on the street, at sidewalk stands or via the taxi's own app. Metered fares with published surcharges — airport, station, night — and always a receipt.
When it's the best option
Groups of three or four, luggage, early mornings and rushed transfers: split per head it matches the metro and saves half an hour. Short daytime hops, almost never.
Payments and receipts
Card in nearly all of them and invoice on request. Ride apps show an estimated price before you order: comparing it with the meter at rush hour is legitimate local sport.
